Elbgold was founded in Hamburg in 2004 by Annika Taschinski and Thomas Kliefoth – driven by the conviction that coffee can be more than just a pleasure. It can have an impact: in the countries of origin, and on the people who grow and process it. This impact is achieved through fair prices, direct partnerships, and uncompromising quality. What began as an idea during backpacking trips in the 1990s became the vision of a fair, high-quality coffee brand. Today, elbgold stands for excellent specialty coffee, traded and roasted with respect, transparency, and responsibility.

We source, import, and roast the world's finest green coffees – directly from producers in Central and South America, Africa, and Asia. Our relationships with the farms are at the heart of our work. We pay fair prices, significantly higher than the world market price, and provide upfront financing for coffees when needed. This fosters trust, sustainable partnerships, and exceptional coffee.
